At Jackson Environmental, we boast no less than four decades in the industries of demolition and asbestos removal. Of course, these are two areas which are highly specialised and that require a great deal of training. This is intended to ensure the safety of our technicians as well as the general public. However, we also appreciate that this technology is consistently evolving and the relevant safety standards have likewise progressed.
So, we are quite pleased to announce that we have secured a three-year asbestos working licence with the HSE (Health and Safety Executive). To understand the stringent requirements which need to be met to receive this accreditation, our latest company update takes a closer look at the licence itself.
The HSE bases their approval off of several metrics. These include both past performance and an evaluation of our health and safety management techniques. Some areas which are examined include (but are not limited to):
• Worker involvement
• Real-time competence on the job site
• Leadership and management.
There is also a more in-depth assessment that includes such variables as medical certification, the proper use of respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and the adequate transparency of our operational records. Of course, failing to meet any of these requirements would prevent the company from obtaining a licence.
Why Is This Licence So Critical?
Besides the obvious reason of being able to legally operate our business, the HSE requires us (and all companies that specialise in asbestos removal) to demonstrate a proficient and working knowledge of the numerous risks which are naturally associated with this challenging field.
Of course, all of our employees need to display such a competency for the entire company to be granted this licence. It is important to note that this accreditation is also based upon our previous performance as opposed to current knowledge alone. Without a clean record in terms of health and safety protocols, we would have been unable to secure this licence.
Three Years As A Testament
Three years is the absolute maximum time frame allowed by the HSE to hold such a licence. In essence, this longevity demonstrates our experience as well as a second-to-none attention to safety concerns. In turn, this ensures all of our clients that they are receiving the most experienced asbestos removal services to be enjoyed.
Do you suspect that your property may contain dangerous levels of asbestos? Are you searching for a well-established company to deal with these important concerns?
